Margot McMillen
Guatemala

Stan and Margot McMillen have been serving as missionaries to the Uspantec people of Guatemala for over 30 years. Translation work began in Las Pacayas in 1974.

Rebel guerrillas destroyed the McMillen's home in July 1979. The family moved to Quetzaltenango and continued the translation project from that location until their children completed high school. In February 1985, they moved back to Las Pacayas. They also maintain a home in Uspantan where electricity is available.

On April 1, 2000, the Uspantec New Testament was dedicated. The New Testament on audio cassette and the JESUS film dubbed into Uspangteco, along with several other cassettes and over 35 literature pieces, have been produced.

Currently, Margot and the translation team are working on Old Testament translation for use in Bible study and radio scripts. Stan supervises the literacy program and cassette distribution.

Stan is a graduate of Concordia University St. Paul and Concordia Seward. Margot also attended Concordia St. Paul. The McMillens have four married children: Ben to Katy (Guatemalan), Tina to Femi (Nigerian), Katrinka to Julio (Guatemalan), Joseph to Angie (American). They have 14 grandchildren.

Pray that the Uspantec people may truly know of Him who says: ''Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'' Psalm 46:10 NIV
