Kory and Cara Fay are in the process of writing a series of five blog posts sharing some lessons learned on the field. It's a great way to get some insight into what it is like to be a new missionary in a foreign field. The Fays served briefly in Cameroon and Kory is now assisting with member care and the recruitment and pre-field process at the LBT Service Center in Aurora, Illinois.
Many of you know that we were only in Cameroon for a brief 3-1/2 months before needing to return to the United States. Much of what follows are things that we knew on some level, but did not give the amount of time/attention that they deserved. What this series will not include are things that we did know and were glad for it (maybe that will be for another time...). Every Wednesday afternoon, a story from one of our staff, missionaries, or national coworkers is added. We take and in-depth look at topics ranging from adjusting to a new culture, what's new in the worlds of Bible translation or Scripture engagement, or what's happening in the communities where we serve. On Fridays, we post ''Friday Field Notes'' -- links to all of the missionary newsletters that were updated during the week.
Visiting our blog also gives you an opportunity to tell us what you think, and to ask questions. The blog is monitored daily by LBT staff so that we can respond to your needs.

LBT's mission is to help bring people to faith in Jesus Christ by making the Word of God available to those who do not yet have it in the language of their hearts.
