Mission Projects

Liberia

Liberia is located on the Atlantic coast of West Africa and is bordered by Sierra Leone, Guinea, and C“te d'Ivoire. English and 33 other languages are spoken in Liberia. Even though civil conflict has forced LBT to evacuate its missionaries from Liberia three times since 1989, God has enabled the work to continue. LBT missionaries assigned to Liberia are based outside the country. During regular visits, they consult with their indigenous co-workers and church leaders and provide literacy and computer training and program guidance.

100% Complete LIBTRALO Vehicle: The Liberian Translation and Literacy Organization has an opportunity to by a reliable used vehicle from a person known to LBT for a very low cost. LIBTRALO will be contributing to the cost of the vehicle, but needs assistance of about $5000 to complete the purchase and pay the costs for getting it to their headquarters in Monrovia. This vehicle will help LIBTRALO travel to remote location in Liberia to assess the Mother Tongue language program. People who sucessfully learn to read and write will be successful readers of Scripture in their language.
Goal: $5000 Fully Funded--Thank You!

30% Complete LIBTRALO Computers: Liberia Translation and Literacy Organization (LIBTRALO), our partner organization in Liberia, is in need of new computers. They are working on creating Mother Tongue teaching materials for 16 different languages, and computers are essential to that work, as well as to ongoing translation work in Liberia. Your gift to this project will enable LIBTRALO staff to work more efficiently, enhancing the availability of God's Word in Liberia.
Goal: $23700
