When Peh Seits and her team set out the large plastic owl, they didn't think anything of it. They were leading a Vacation Bible School program for missionary children in Cameroon, and each day featured a different animal as the mascot. It was Owl Day. However, it wasn't long before Peg learned of her team's innocent mistake: Many of the villagers believe owls are vampires and have a deep fear of the animal. ''At first I thought it was kind of funny,'' Peg said. ''But then I realized that this was an example of how people without God in their lives live in fear. These people need the Lord.''

Since 1996, Peg's love for the people of Cameroon has continued to grow. That was the year she and her youngest three children traveled to Cameroon to tutor missionary kids for Lutheran Bible Translators. God later opened the door to a 10-month tutoring position with LBT in Guatemala.

Since 2006, Peg has been committed to involving people in Bible translation through her involvement with Wycliffe Associates (WA) - a partner organization of Wycliffe Bible Translators. She initially worked as a volunteer, but later became a supported missionary working for two years in Orlando at the Wycliffe Associates headquarters.

Peg became an associate member of LBT in 2009. Following the loss of her husband after an eight year battle with Alzheimer's, she moved to Cameroon where she now serves as Wycliffe Associates Program Manager. In that role, she is responsible for the 25 WA volunteers and staff currently in Cameroon as well as recruiting additional support workers, managing construction projects and facilitating an exciting new program to allow online Internet connectivity for mother tongue translators.
