Margaret Mickan

Margaret Mickan is a Member of Wycliffe Bible Translators, and an Associate Member of LBT-Australia. She is currently involved in the Kriol Bible project in Australia.

Kriol is a language spoken by around 30,000 indigenous Australians across the north of the country. Margaret Mickan began working with LBTA and Wycliffe Bible Translators under a partnership agreement in 1983 as a literacy worker in the Kriol language. She had a major part in completing the 40-year history of the final Kriol Bible translation and is now based in Darwin, where she continues to work amongst Kriol speakers across the 'top end' of Australia promoting use of the Bible and producing other Bible-related teaching and literacy aids.
