Martin and Joan Weber

Martin and Joan Weber

Praise God! His Word is now written in the Kwanja language! Martin and Joan, with co-workers Jerome and Emmanuel, finished typesetting the Kwanja New Testament in December 2005. The New Testament was dedicated in Yimbere, Cameroon with great celebration in December 2006.

To get God's Word ''into the hands, and upon the hearts'' of the Kwanja people has been the mission of the Webers since they came to Cameroon in 1982. Their focus had been to translate God's Word into the Kwanja language, and to teach and equip them to read and use it. Following a furlough in Canada in early 2007, Martin and Joan returned to Cameroon. Although the translation work is finished, Martin and Joan continue to work in Cameroon to encourage and train Kwanjas to expand the literacy work and to promote the audio Scriptures, for them to use and apply to their lives, that they may have life in His Name.

Their children, Nathan, Sammy and Sarah Weber, grew up in Cameroon, and have been part of the ministry to the Kwanjas. The Old Testament bible stories dramatized with Kwanja voices that Sammy recorded on cassettes are now being distributed on small solar powered players, called MegaVoice players.

The Webers give glory to God for His faithfulness in bringing the Kwanja New Testament to reality. They are thankful for the many faithful supporters who have made this long-term goal possible. Pray that the Holy Spirit will empower the Word of God in Kwanja to touch and change Kwanja lives, to know and follow Jesus as Lord!
