Rev. Michael and Jo Ann Megahan

Rev. Michael and Jo Ann Megahan (Peter)

Serving others and devoting their lives to the mission of bringing people to faith in Jesus Christ has been a life long commitment for the Megahans. Following ten years of pastoral ministry in southwestern Texas, Michael and Jo Ann were called to serve as Bible school teacher and Pastor in Tanzania. Next was an assignment to serve as Pastor and evangelist among the Samburu people of Kenya. During these years Jo Ann worked tirelessly in rearing their children in difficult overseas situations. She continues to be a great support to Michael.

In 2004, the Megahans were appointed as LBT missionaries. They are currently serving with the Kalanga Bible Translation Project in Francistown, Botswana in southern Africa.

Michael obtained a BA (Sociology) from the University of Texas (Austin); Master of Divinity (Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago- LSTC); Master of Theology (Luther, St. Paul); Doctor of Ministry (Seminex/LSTC) and a Master in Applied Linguistics from the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics (GIAL) in Dallas. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Literature in Old Testament Translation at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Jo Ann has a Bachelor in Psychology from UT (Austin) and a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Hamline University. She has also taken literacy courses at GIAL.

Michael and Jo Ann were married July 26, 1969 and have four children.

Jo Ann likes quilting, puzzles, and reading. Michael enjoys reading, karate, gardening and cooking (especially old-fashioned bread baking). Both love traveling and enjoying other cultures and foods.

Greatest Joy in Life-sharing the love and story of Jesus!
