March 2004: John, a former high school math and computer programming teacher from Washington, Missouri, began service as translation advisor to the Dhimba Translation and Literacy Project in Opuwo, Namibia. The assignment was to assist with the completion of the translation of the New Testament into the Dhimba language.
December 2010: the Dhimba New Testament was finished and sent to the typesetters. We prayerfully hope that the printed New Testament is in the hands of the Dhimba people before the end of 2011.
February 2011: John returned to the United States to begin a long awaited furlough. For the remainder of 2011 and early into 2012, John expects to visit churches and individuals to raise awareness about the need for prayer and financial support for his next term of service with Lutheran Bible Translators. In addition, he intends to spend three months in continuing education to help prepare him for his next assignment.
April 2012: John plans to depart for Botswana. There, he will partner with LBT missionary Rev. Rich Rudowske to assist with the translation of the Shekgalagari New Testament. To support John financially, click the ''Contribute Today!'' button to the right.
