Christina Riddle

Christina Riddle

My name is Christina Riddle, and I'm serving in a village in northern Ghana. When I was in college, LBT missionary Sarah Esala spoke at my church and told how she'd always wanted to be a missionary, ever since she was a little girl. Listening to her, I tried to also want to be a missionary-but it just didn't work. I wanted to always live in America. That's how I know that God has definitely changed my heart to bring me where I am today.

I graduated from Ohio Dominican University in 2003 with a BA in psychology. In 2004, I was off to Taiwan to work as a missionary and English teacher, teaching outreach English classes with a Taiwanese church. After that, I came to Ghana in 2008 to support the Esala family, primarily through home schooling their oldest daughter. I have since completed my term with the Esalas and now am working in the same way with the David and Valerie Federwitz family. Sometimes I moonlight with other families on the Ghana team. It is very satisfying work.

I'm very excited to continue this mission in Ghana. If you can keep a secret, then I won't mind telling you that I have a tendency to run off and do random, bizarre things just because someone invited me. (You can understand, I'm sure, how I might not like information like that to get out).

It's not that I can't say ''no,'' it's just that I can't resist the adventure. And, despite my completely worthless sense of direction, I really love to travel. Aside from the special sense of accomplishment that comes from having successfully navigated a foreign airport, I really enjoy meeting the people and learning about their culture. Who knew that God could change me so completely? But I am so glad he did.
