Bill and Dianne Eckermann

Bill and Dianne Eckermann are Members of Lutheran Bible Translators Australia. From 1990 until 2002 they worked with the Bukawa language group in Papua New Guinea, completing a New Testament translation as well as Genesis and other Old Testament selections. They helped to train Elementary School teachers and set up elementary schooling within the Bukawa language group, in line with the Papua New Guinea government's program of elementary school reform. Bill worked as a translation consultant for other Wycliffe bible translators in the PNG branch. Since leaving PNG Bill has worked as a translation consultant assisting the work of SIL in Vanuatu, as well as one translator working in central Australia. At the present time Bill and Dianne are working as trainers/advisors/mentors for a group of Sudanese refugees in Australia who wish to re-translate the Scriptures for their Ma'di language.
