Allen returned to Dallas for further studies in 1995. T hey married in 1995. Allen and Sheri arrived in Guatemala to work in the Gar”funa Language Project as Scripture Use Advisors.
Their three children were born in Guatemala; Kendra (May 21, 1996), Thomas (December 22, 1997) and Peter (May 1, 2001). The children were not only a blessing to the family, but also opened doors to relationships with the Guatemalan people. For 12 years’Allen & Sheri Larsen’along with’their children served among the Gar”funa people in Central America. For 12 years they saw what God was doing among the Gar”funa people: providing His Word, changing lives and expanding His Kingdom. The LORD placed the Larsens into a unique ministry experience to work along side Gar”funa Christians to be a part of this.
Now the Larsens have transitioned to work with Wycliffe Associate, a group that supports Wycliffe Bible Translators through programs and services. Allen serves as Site Volunteer Coordinator. He will work with volunteers coming to do construction projects with the recording ministry of Vi¤a. They remain with Lutheran Bible Translators as associate members.
The Larsens ask for your prayers as they involve themselves with this exciting ministry of making God's Word available in the various languages of Guatemala. We invite you to be part of this important ministry to help spread the life giving Word and point others to Jesus as Lord and Savior.
