Representatives

One of the ways you can partner with Lutheran Bible Translators and help respond to God's Mission is by becoming a Congregational or an Area Representative.

Congregational Representitives

Congregational Representatives serve as a voice for, a representative of, and an advocate for LBT missionary efforts in their congregations. It's a great way to help respond to God's Mission. Joining with us in responding to God's call means we’re working together to spread the Good News.

As an individual, or as part of a team, COngregational Representatives link their congregation or area with LBT field missionary and mission efforts to help those who don't have the Bible in their heart language. Your actions have a world-wide impact that can last an eternity.

We can't fulfill our mission... to help bring people to faith in Jesus Christ... alone. At present, LBT has more than 400 Representatives in 42 states. Join us and them and participate in God's Mission. By becoming an LBT Congregational Representative, you have the rewarding challenge of helping to "make disciples of all nations" Matthew 28:19 (NIV)

Requirements:

We ask our representatives to do two things:

  • Pray for our ministry, missionaries, staff and volunteers... and encourage their congregation to do the same.
  • Keep the members of their congregation informed about the mission, ministry and purpose of LBT.

Tools You Can Use:

We have tools to help you keep your congregation informed. Some of these tools are:

  • Our quarterly Messenger newsletter, which we'd be glad to supply in quantities you specify..., for your congregation
  • Celebrate a "Bible Translation Sunday". We've got a variety of materials to use.
  • Invite missionaries to speak with your congregation, or at your school or Bible class. We can help arrange a date or dates.
  • Place periodic articles or announcements about LBT missionaries and mission efforts and successes in your Sunday bulletin or congregational newsletter.

We'll provide you with advice, prepared materials, videos, updates and a network of missionary speakers... all the things you need as a Congregational Representative. Our goal is to equip you with what you need.

Area Representatives

Area Representatives serve as a liason between the LBT Service Center and a number of Congregational Representatives in a given region. Included among the ways in which Area Reps serve are:

  • Equipping, encouraging and coaching Congregational Representatives
  • Helping to represent LBT at nearby conventions and conferences when possible
  • Holding periodic fellowship gatherings for reps.
  • Seeking out, promoting, and identifying missionary speaking opportunities
  • Serving as a sounding board for other reps.

We’re striving to expand the number of Area Representatives around the U.S. If helping to fulfill God’s Mission in this way sounds interesting to you, perhaps you’re the kind of person we’re looking for.
